SUNANDBASS Recordings play host to FD this month releasing his solo venture, the ‘Serious’ EP. Eagerly awaited and highly sought after since it’s initial play on Lenzman’s ‘Dope Tape’, ‘Serious’ will now see the light of day (or night as the case may be if your one of the many DJ’s who have been anticipating this release).
A skillful mix of soulful vocals, weighty bass and beaming liquid pads, ‘Serious’ is the epitome of the deeper side to FD’s production, and a testament to his ability to seamlessly blend uplifting melodies with sultry undertones.
Stepping up on the remix of ‘Ambra’, the man with the Midas touch: Calibre. A subtle rework of an already captivating tune, breathtakingly beautiful piano melodies float between warming sub bass and shimmering pads, effortlessly encapsulating the delicate undertones of this EP.
The final offering showcases the heavier side to FD’s palette. A murky seven and a half minute roller, ‘The Edges’ brings forward upfront bass, classic breaks and outer worldly soundscapes. Militant drums, intricate details and unapologetic bass hits tie up this tastefully executed EP perfectly.
