Holy damn! What a weekend that was! Not often do I go to a House event, but Taste the Punch has been a blessing to go to as always! After going International for the Summer, being in Ibiza, Taste the Punch returned to Luton hosting it’s own Welcome Party! – and boy, it went off!
The music, the people and overall the vibe of the event was overwhelming, from start to leave – probably making this the best Taste the Punch to date! Also the light show that Taste the Punch put on, on the main stage! Damn, that was a beauty to see!
From entering the event, the bass and sound quality was amazing. Opening up on the Punchbowl was Reverb b2b Harks starting of with a decent house vibe, and increasing the beat as more people arrived. This was a great start to any event.
ODCEE’s calm entrance helped keep the vibes bubbling before the main room was unleashed. Playing a cocktail of his own tunes and techy fillers, ODCEE (Wayne) definitely brought it all to the table. He’s currently bubbling under the radar with releases on Data Transmission and his set definitely didn’t disappoint. One to watch.
Opening the main stage was Call me Kay! Although not seeing him on the line-up it was a real surprise to see him opening the main stage, but he did it with a passion and it was a great opening to the main stage!
Switching from the main stage to spend a bit of time at the Punchbowl, was another TTP resident, Paul Malcolm! Paul definitely knows how to switch up a groove and work a room which comes as no surprise as he joined TTP earlier this year in Ibiza at Eden. With silky smooth transitions and thumping tracklist, Paul’s set was definitely one of my favourites.
Another appearance to TTP on the main stage, while also being my other favourite set from the night was Hauswerks. Hauswerk being one of the two headliners for the night, won the night by his astonishing tracklist, slick transitions and the way he can control the crowd at the main stage! Also playing Leonardo Gonnelli – Moan the personal favourite track of the night for myself!
Time for the main headliner of the night, Jackmaster! As always, another astonishing set from Jackmaster, if you’ve ever seen him live anywhere, he always manages to pull off the most amazing sets! It was a pleasure being able to catch him live, in person, for the first time!
Making her return to the Punchbowl was nothing short of a fun experience. Rochelle’s bubbly presence behind the decks really allows you to let loose and use the dance floor to its full potential. Rochelle’s definitely been turning heads with her sets at Sonoro LDN’s Garden Parties and we hope to see her back in the Punchbowl soon.
Unfortunately, I had to leave after Rochelle’s set, being unable to hear the likes of Reecey B and Too Tall, which I will definitely have to catch at the next Taste the Punch! As said, the overall feel of the event was to point! And I’d recommend any House fan to go to a Taste the Punch event to feel the experience and have a great night!
Or day, as the next Taste the Punch will be on the 26th December – Boxing Day from 2pm to 11pm! With Camelphat as the Headliner, be sure to go! Early release tickets are already on sale, so be sure to grab one before the prices go up!
