Those that follow regularly may have noticed that our kicks section has been looking decidedly . . . bereft, of late. I’m not going to lie and say there haven’t been many releases because there have, just none that I felt were strong enough to bring to you. Until now of course.
Do you remember the old days, when Nike used to champion simple and original colour ways? I mean, before they started chucking every colour they had in the mix, back to back with hidden heel, Lunarlon and tape pack technology? Well, it seems those days might be making a comeback as the team at Nike have recently dropped the new “Stingray” pack, consisting of an AM1, AM90, Huarache and Internationalist, and let me tell you, they’re cool as fuck.
This mystical sounding AM1 is comprised of a black leather upper with a subtle sheen, a textured black leather mudguard, white midsole and black outer sole. The toe box is tastefully decorated with little perforations while the texture on the mudguard is said to represent that of a stingray. All in all this is an incredibly smart design and one that will definitely hold its worth in years to come, that being said however, they don’t just call it the “stingray” because of the pattern. As of yet I haven’t found any info on a UK release date and buying these kicks alone will sting you for $140 without shipping and import tax. Still, it’s nice to dream though, right?
